How to Combat the Lack of Employee Recognition

Leaders, you'd have to live under a rock not to know that year after year, one of the biggest reasons employees look for a new job or leave their current one is the lack of employee recognition. 😳

But when I talk to leaders about this, they always seem dumbfounded about how to combat it. 

They start to ask questions like: How do we improve that on a budget? How do we get an ROI in this area without implementing some massive employee recognition program? 🙋🏼‍♀️

 

➡️ And if you want to grow in your ability to give individualized praise and recognition, the biggest tip I can give you is this: ⬅️

Make sure to deliver praise and recognition to your employees in a way that is customized to their unique talents and strengths. 💌 

There's a difference between saying, "Hey, great job in that meeting. I really appreciate your input."

(Which, by the way, is still a great message.) 💙

Versus, "Hey, I just need you to know that your ability to synthesize information quickly serves our team so well. Thank you."

That's the kind of praise and recognition that moves the needle. 🪡
